Beautifying for your Holiday Party Without Breaking the Bank

'Tis the season for holiday parties and dressing up. With all of the events that you probably have scheduled in the next few weeks, you are going to want to look your very best. For the well-to-do, this means an extra collagen filler, a few botox shots and some microdermabrasion. However, beauty need not cost so much money and believe it or not, you can still shine at your New Year's Eve party without injecting chemicals into your face!

There are more natural and less expensive ways to stand out in a crowd and feel beautiful. For example, in the Lanacashire & Manchester area try simple eyelash extensions Bolton for that wow factor and see just how jealous your friends can get! Semi permanent eyelash extensions are painless & relatively inexpensive way to enhance that natural look. Failing that why not even try a couple of extra coats of mascara to make your eyes stand out. On the day of the event, put some eye drops in both eyes so there is not a hint of redness in them. Perfect your "smokey eye" makeup technique and add a bit of extra shimmer to the very inside corner beside each eye. Your eyes will look amazing and heads will turn when you walk in the room!

If you have a little bit of extra money in your beauty budget, go for an exfoliating facial. Your skin will glow - which is important after all of the holiday indulging! If you can't afford that trip to the spa, no problem - buy an exfoliating cream from the drug store and do the work yourself. As a bonus beauty tip: drink an extra two glasses of water per day on the week before your party. Water will cleanse out your system and hydrate your skin! (more...)

Picking The Right Perfume

If you’re out on the hunt for some Calvin Klein, Lacoste or even Christian Bailey perfume, the chances are that at some point or another you’ll find yourself completely stumped on what is the right perfume to buy. That’s why we’ve come up with this guide on what you should look out for when out on the hunt for that perfect fragrance.

First of all, it’s always a very good idea to never try more than three perfumes or so within a short time period. Whilst they might all smell lovely after that point, the chances are they actually don’t! Because of the way that the body adjusts to strong smells, you will actually become insensitive to different smells after a while, meaning that you’re essentially shopping blind! Think of it like trying to pick out individual string quartet instruments after sitting behind a drummer for three hours. Needless to say, the best solution is to try out two or three, then go away and try out more later on if necessary.

Another thing to bear in mind is that you should always leave at least a minute between the perfumes making contact with the skin, and deciding whether they actually work for you. This because although the perfume might smell marvelous when it’s in the air (or even on your friend), the effect will actually be significantly different when it meets the skin. This is because your skin actually has a completely different scent, all of it’s own. Nice, huh? Completely true, however! Leave it a few minutes before rushing out to buy, otherwise you might be confronted with a smell that’s rather unpleasant once you’ve had it on a few hours! (more...)
